Turkish province attracting more visitors
The Turkish province of Agri is becoming an increasingly popular tourist market, according to an official.
Muhsin Bulut, culture and tourism director in the region, said that the number of people visiting had risen significantly in the last few years.
This, he stated, meant that the sector would be highly important for Agri during 2008, as it was likely to build on the recent surge of interest.
Speaking to the Turkish Daily News, Mr Bulut commented: "We believe that the figure will show a further increase in the upcoming years."
He added that the area had numerous attractions for visitors, including Mount Ararat, the tallest peak in Turkey, as well as the second-biggest meteor crater in the world.
This increase in tourism will be likely to enhance the appeal of the country as a market for overseas property investors.
BuyAssociation recently highlighted Turkey as one of the main investment hotspots in the world, partly because of its appeal among British holidaymakers.
