Turkish economy 'still strong'
Turkey is likely to remain a popular choice with overseas investors, according to a leading Middle East banker.
The country has gained a reputation for having an emerging economy in the past few years, but some recent media reports have suggested it could be set for a downturn.
However, NBK Capital Investment & Merchant Banking's chief executive Amjad Ahmad strongly disagrees with that idea.
Mr Ahmad told Turkish Daily News that he believes the economy in the country is continuing to improve and will carry on doing so, even if there is a change of government.
He added: "We never come to a market for short-term gains. Turkey's dynamics are very strong and that is why we will continue to do business here."
The financier's remarks come just weeks after Ian Jones of property fund Cordea Savills told Reuters that Turkey's young and growing population mean conditions are right to invest in residential property in the country.
