Turkish city 'set to receive millions of tourists'
At least eight million tourists are set to visit the Turkish city of Antalya in the next year, according to new figures.
Turkish newspaper Today's Zaman stated that area was the "tourism star" of the Mediterranean coast and that it was likely to remain popular with holidaymakers.
The publication added that more than 13,000 foreigners have chosen to relocate to the city on a permanent basis.
One of these people, German buyer Gunter Wojeiechowski, spoke of his decision to move to the district of Alanya, a seaside resort located near to the city.
He commented: "The sun is out more than 300 days a year.
"There is both the sea and the mountains and I swim and sunbathe here freely."
He also praised the hospitality of local people, adding that was "very satisfied" with his life in Turkey.
Last month, the new Turkish president Abdullah Gul said he was committed to being more heavily involved with the EU.
