Turkey to be promoted to German consumers

Turkey's tourism industry could soon benefit from an influx of German holidaymakers, a media report has stated.

According to the Turkish Daily News, Geman travel agency Mein-Reisespezialist is to broadcast a series of advertisement on various television networks to promote Turkey as a holiday destination.

Stations across Germany will carry the three-minute films which will extol the virtues of Turkey as a tourist spot.

According to official estimates, up to 46 million people are likely to see the advertisements, meaning that they could potentially attract a large number of visitors to the country.

This could help overseas property owners in Turkey, as they may have more visitors staying in rental accommodation.

Huseyin Baraner, chairman of the Europe-Turkey Tourism Business Council, commented: "Videos on Turkey will increase tourism sales and have a positive impact on Turkey's image in Germany."

This comes after the newspaper reported that the country was becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination for Russians and Ukrainians.
