Turkey commended by British expats
A British couple have spoken of their decision to sell their home in the UK and move abroad permanently.
Keith and Elizabeth Buchanan, from Fife in Scotland, decided to relocate to the sun as they wanted to enjoy a more relaxed way of life.
They have purchased a two-bedroom apartment on the outskirts of Alanya in Turkey and plan to move out there later this year.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Mr Buchanan praised the country for its natural beauty, "stunning" coastlines and rugged, mountainous landscapes.
He commented: "I suppose it's like Scotland in that respect, except Turkey has fantastic weather."
Mr Buchanan added that he is happy they have purchased a home in the country, especially as local people are very friendly and welcoming.
This comes soon after expats David and Rosemary Nigbur told the Sun that the pace of life in Turkey is much more relaxed than the UK, while the good weather allows them to sit outdoors in the middle of winter.
