Turkey basks in winter sunshine

Visitors in the Turkish province of Antalya are basking in summer-like weather conditions, according to reports.

Today's Zaman stated that the Mediterranean region was currently experiencing temperatures of about 23 degrees C.

This has been welcomed by visitors to the province, including German holidaymaker Albert Agneust.

Speaking to the newspaper, he commented: "It was snowy and icy cold in Germany.

"We expected similar weather conditions in Antalya, too, but we are delighted to see the sun shining."

Belgian tourist Meliha Sene Aksel added that since she had never visited Antalya before, she had not expected the weather to be so warm.

This follows comments by the UK-based newspaper the Telegraph, which stated that Turkey's appeal among holidaymakers could make it a good option for overseas property buyers.

Prospective investors were also told that growth in the market meant they would be able to benefit from capital appreciation.
