Turkey attracts Ukrainian tourists

A growing number of Ukrainian consumers are choosing to spend their holidays in Turkey, it has been reported.

The Kyiv Post stated that the country attracted 590,000 people from the Ukraine last year - 22% more than in 2006.

This was said to have been reflected in the number of flights being offered to Turkey, as increased demand has led to the need for more services to be offered.

Speaking to the newspaper, Ali Altunbas of Adore Toure commented: "When we started our business in Ukraine, we organised about 20 flights to Antalya per week."

"Nowadays, the number of flights is between 40 and 50 per week."

Meanwhile, a representative of Karya Tour revealed that its client volume was increasing by 40% a year, with many passengers going to Turkey.

This could be a positive development for rental investors in the country, as the growth in tourist numbers will create extra demand for holiday homes.

According to figures from the UN World Tourism Organisation, visitor numbers in Turkey rose by almost a fifth last year.
