Turkey attracts property investors
Overseas property investors are increasingly focusing their attention towards Turkey, according to a media report.
UK-based newspaper the Independent stated that the current slowdown in the British housing market has prompted many homebuyers to seek high returns elsewhere.
As a result, many were said to be favouring fast-growing markets such as Turkey, which saw house price growth of between 15 and 20% last year.
The Independent commented: "Our property prices may be stagnating but for Britons looking to turn bricks and mortar into profits, there is hope on the horizon."
In addition, the publication stated that house prices in Turkey are relatively cheap by UK standards, with properties such as villas available for about £90,000.
This comes after Turkish newspaper Today's Zaman revealed that the country is attracting more and more interest from foreign property buyers.
The media outlet said Turkey is becoming increasingly popular with various groups, including holiday home owners and investors.
