Turkey attracts more foreign visitors
Official figures have revealed that the number of holidaymakers visiting Turkey has gone up this year.
According to government statistics, the European country attracted 2.98 million tourists in September 2008.
This is 6.49% up on the amount recorded during the same period of the previous year.
The figures will be welcome reading for owners of rental accommodation in Turkey which is aimed at the tourist market.
Rising visitor numbers will be likely to boost demand for temporary lodgings in the country, which in turn may result in higher rental yields for investors.
Government data also showed that Turkey is especially popular with German holidaymakers, as they accounted for nearly a fifth of all incoming visitors.
Many Russian and British visitors were also said to have visited the country last month.
This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents revealed that the number of summer bookings for trips to Turkey went up by 20% this year.
