Tourists advised to travel beyond eurozone

People who are thinking of travelling abroad within the next few months have been advised to head outside the eurozone.

According to the Telegraph, consumers in the UK are refusing to let the credit crunch stop them from taking trips overseas.

Therefore, the newspaper has advised that people who are experiencing financial constraints as a result of the economic crisis make the most of the money they have available.

Leisure travellers were told that heading to destinations which offer the most favourable exchange rates could be one way of maximising their funds.

This means that the weakness of the pound against the euro could make countries outside the eurozone better value options for holidaymakers.

"Make your money go further by looking where the pound is strongest," the Telegraph said.

The publication added that Turkey is one destination which currently offers more value for money than places such as Italy and Spain.

This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents revealed that the number of summer bookings for trips to Turkey went up by 20% this year.
