Tourism 'important to Argentinean economy'
Tourism is becoming an increasingly important contributor to the Argentinean economy, a media outlet has stated.
According to Travel and Tourism News, the holiday industry is currently generating an unprecedented number of jobs in the South American country.
This, it stated, is because it is attracting an increased number of foreign leisure travellers.
Figures cited by the publication showed that up to 8 million people are expected to arrive in Argentina this year.
This would also represent a significant boost for the country's rental sector, thereby creating opportunities for overseas property investors to benefit.
"In Argentina, tourism is becoming more important as it now generates more jobs than ever," said Travel and Tourism News.
The publication added that tourism authorities in the country are particularly keen to stimulate growth in the sector by reaching out to regions such as the Middle East.
This comes after government statistics cited by Reuters showed that during the year to July 2008, the Argentinean economy experienced growth of 8.3%.
