Tomato festival 'draws in the crowds'
Each year the streets of Bunol, near Valencia in Spain, come to life as part of the Tomatina tomato festival.
At other times, the area is often very quiet, but comes alive at this time of year, reports Homes Worldwide.
The area attracts tourists from across the globe during the festivities, when the narrow streets are crammed with revellers, news that may interest potential property investors in other areas of the country.
Mayor of Bunol Fernando Giraldos stated that he believed 40,000 people will take part in the event this year. Orders for the tomatoes themselves were up by 15%.
Many visitors are expected from the UK and other parts of Europe, Homes Worldwide added.
The area itself has properties on sale for less than 99,000 euros (£67,000), with stunning scenery located near to the village.
Holidays-Direct recently stated that more British tourists are being drawn to attractions on offer in Barcelona.
