Temperatures in Turkey 'to drop slightly'

Turkey is currently in the grip of a heatwave which has seen temperatures rocket high above average but these could be set to drop slightly, according to reports.

Temperatures are still likely to remain above 30 degrees Centigrade over the weekend, the State Meteorology Affairs Istanbul stated, reported by Today's Zaman.

During this time, the temperature is set to fall by as much as 10 degrees Centigrade, the body said, due to a north-east wind blowing in.

People in Istanbul may find that the drop off in heat is more bearable and will provide easier general living conditions, the organisation added.

A heatwave has come in from the Balkans, soaking much of eastern Europe in Record temperatures, the publication stated.

Earlier this week, a poll from the Pew Research Centre suggested that a high number of Turkish people are optimistic about the future of the country under the present ruling party - the Justice and Development Party - which gained power on Sunday.
