Stock exchange in Bucharest 'sees record high'
The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) has reached an unprecedented high, something that suggests an increased level of foreign investment, reports zt.ro.
According to the publication, the BET-C index - which records the performance of listed firms - has risen by 25.2% by the start of the year.
Furthermore, net capital inflows have reached 385 million euros (£259 million) on the BSE during the first 5 months of the year, according to figures released by the National Securities Commission.
Such growth has been swelled by massive increased at a number of small firms with that have low capitalisation, according to zt.ro.
In addition, the BET-FI index, that which looks at financial investment companies, recorded a 28.1% rise since the start of the year, another unprecedented jump.
In other news, the hotel chain Continental Hotels announced that it is looking to significantly increase the number of people it employs in Romania in the coming years.
