Spanish property purchase praised by buyers
A couple from the UK have spoken positively of their decision to purchase a holiday home in Spain.
John and Janet Wilson recently invested in a two-bedroom apartment in the Costa Blanca for just £103,000.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, the couple revealed that earlier in the year, the same property had been on the market for £140,000.
However, the recent downturn in the market has led to some sellers slashing their prices - a development which has created new opportunities for lifestyle buyers.
"We're so pleased with our bargain," Mrs Wilson commented.
"A saving of more than 25 per cent isn't exactly small change - it made a world of difference to us."
She added that buying a property in Spain at a time when prices are lower has proved to be a "great move".
According to the Association of International Property Professionals, the country is currently the most popular location among British property buyers.
Spain was said to account for more than a quarter of all overseas purchases last year.
