Spanish own rather than rent
A high number of people in Spain own rather than rent their homes, according to new figures released by the Economist.
In total, 80% of those in Spain own their own properties, while this figure is just 64% in the UK, the survey argued, reports Homes Worldwide.
Additionally, a large number of Spanish people own not just 1 home but 2, including some form of holiday home for the weekend, the publication stated.
British people moving to Spain like to live among the more tranquil areas and prefer the country areas and coast, the findings added.
Moreover, it is less likely that Spanish people will move home during their lifetime compared with British people. Overall, 20% of UK people move into 20 properties in a lifetime, news that may be of interest to potential property investors.
In related news, Easypet stated this week that more people are taking their pets with them when they travel abroad to Spain.
