Spanish buyers 'must do research'
Overseas property investors have been urged to research their locations thoroughly when looking to buy in Spain.
Bruce Wilson, tax partner with chartered accountant Campbell Dallas, said that prospective investors should make sure they "get very good local advice and do your research" before making a decision.
He explained that several aspects of the buying process in Spain may be unfamiliar to investors based in the UK, making careful research particularly important.
"It's a different culture, different rules, different laws
It's just a different way of doing it," Mr Wilson commented.
Low-cost airline Ryanair recently revealed plans to launch a new route between Bristol and Alicante from July, making southern Spain even more accessible to property buyers.
Meanwhile, easyJet has announced that its passenger numbers at Malaga Airport increased by 16.7% last year, with over 2.1 million people travelling through the airport with the carrier.
