Spain still popular with foreign buyers
Foreign property buyers are still keen to purchase a residence in Spain, according to a media report.
Spanish newspaper SUR stated that during a recent property exhibition in London, the country generated a high level of interest.
Spain was said to be particularly popular among lifestyle buyers who are interested in moving abroad on a permanent basis.
This is despite the growing popularity of emerging markets such as Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco.
However, SUR stated that these countries were favoured mainly by investment buyers rather than potential expatriates.
The newspaper remarked: "Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco may be more attractive to investors because of the price of property there, but as a place to live, Spain ranks top."
This comes after research by currency specialists HiFX revealed that the number of UK citizens looking to emigrate has gone up by 22 per cent in the last year.
