Spain continues to attract expats
The downturn in the Spanish property market is not denting its appeal among lifestyle buyers from the UK.
This is the conclusion of Shelter Offshore, which said it is currently one of the most popular destinations among British expats.
Indeed, the online portal cited figures showing that about 760,000 migrants from the UK now live in Spain on a permanent basis.
Shelter Offshore has attributed this to a number of factors, such as its year-round sunshine, easy access and affordability.
The website commented: "No matter how many slings and arrows of outrageous fortune fall on Spain, we cannot help loving it enough to holiday there and relocate there."
Shelter Offshore added that the European country also offers a rich and diverse culture, as well as good food, drink and "magnificent" scenery.
This comes after research by Conti Financial Service placed the European country ahead of France in terms of its popularity with property buyers from the UK.
