Spain attracts more leisure travellers
The number of people visiting Spain is continuing to increase, according to official government figures.
Data from the Spanish ministry of industry, commerce and tourism showed that 2.8 million foreign leisure travellers arrived in Spain last month.
This is 0.9% up on the figure recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year, reports Thomson Financial.
The figures are likely to be welcomed by rental investors in the country, as they further reinforce Spain's status as one of the world's most popular tourist attractions.
Furthermore, they suggest that there could be a number of possible opportunities in the buy-to-let sector, as growth in the tourist trade indicates greater demand for rental accommodation.
This comes after recent figures from Holiday-Rentals found that nine out of ten overseas property owners from Britain have invested in Europe.
Statistics also showed that almost a third of these residences are located in Spain.
