Spain attracts foreign property buyers
Overseas property buyers are still seeking investment opportunities in Spain, it has been revealed.
According to Global Edge, the European country is currently attracting a large number of online searches from prospective investors.
This is despite transaction volumes in Spain dropping by a third in the last year, as well as the deepening economic crisis across the world.
While established hotspots such as the Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol were found to remain popular, emerging markets are also seeing more interest from overseas.
This means that some people are still looking towards Spain for investment rather than lifestyle purposes.
Global Edge commented: "The data suggests there are some relatively untapped opportunities for agents who can offer property in the right areas."
According to the Association of International Property Professionals, the country is currently the most popular location among British property buyers.
Spain was said to account for more than a quarter of all overseas purchases last year.
