Spain and Portugal 'are evergreen destinations'
A combination of factors makes countries such as Spain and Portugal permanently attractive to overseas property buyers, it has been claimed.
Commenting on the enduring popularity of Spain and Portugal in the foreign property market, Shelter Offshore described the two countries as "evergreen" destinations.
The term means that both nations enjoy a number of features which make them ideal for both holidaying Britons and those looking to purchase a permanent residence.
According to the property advice website: "They have everything going for them as lifestyle destinations and Britons love the accessibility, fine weather, great way of life and general atmosphere in both Spain and Portugal."
Shelter Offshore described the two countries of the Iberian Peninsula as "top-flight destinations for Brits wanting to escape the UK - either on holiday or permanently".
