Spain and France 'popular Europe choices'

Many people wishing to move abroad would prefer to take up a new home in either Spain or France, according to new research from Bank of Scotland International.

For those under the age of 25, Spain was the clear choice for preferred living, with 7% of respondents having stated this is where they would live in Europe.

Of those in the 35 to 45-year-old bracket, an equal proportion said that they wished to live in Spain and France (5% each).

People over 45 stated that they wanted to move to France if the opportunity to relocate into Europe materialised (10%).

Managing director of Bank of Scotland International Tony Wilcox said that many people, despite their age, are eager to consider stretching their wings.

"Many people are of the opinion that it is only the older generation that consider moving abroad or buying property abroad," he commented.

"However, younger people are also interested in opportunities overseas."

In related news, recent comments by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Urban Land Institute stated that Paris tops a list of property investment markets.
