'School regeneration' in Bulgaria
An increased amount of money is set to be pumped into the restoration of schools in the Sofia area by the city hall.
In total, the press service said that BGN 29 million (£10 million) will be spent on repairing educational establishments in the city, reports novinite.com.
Additionally, this budget is 4 times the amount spent last year, the publication stated.
Overall, BGN 15.6 million is set to be spent repairing 129 schools plus 71 kindergartens, while the remainder of the money will be used for construction purposes, it said.
The repairs will cover a number of areas, such as utility works, plus redevelopment of the entire infrastructure in many instances, news that may be welcomed by potential property investors in the country.
In other smaller projects will be carried out, the body stated.
Earlier this week, the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov said that a new representative for Bulgaria in the EU had been chosen.
