Rugby World Cup 'attracts people to France'
France has experienced a surge in popularity in the wake of the recent Rugby World Cup, according to experts.
The Association of Independent Tour Operators (Aito) stated that the country's hospitality was "outstanding" throughout the duration of the sporting event, which was staged in cities such as Paris.
As a result, this was said to have led to an increase in the number of Britons planning to visit the country, which could lead to a knock-on surge of interest in French property investment.
Aito commented: "There really is no more agreeable short-haul European destination."
The comments come ahead of the launch of a high-speed rail link from St Pancras to Paris, which will cut journey times between the two stations by about 20 minutes.
Earlier this week, currency specialist HiFX, said the improved accessibility that would be provided by the new Eurostar service had led to increased levels of interest in France among prospective property buyers.
