Rising living costs drive Britons abroad
The rising cost of living is prompting many Britons to consider selling their home and moving abroad, a newspaper has stated.
According to the Telegraph, lots of homeowners in the UK feel financially stretched by increases in the fuel costs, food prices and council tax.
The publication said that with this in mind, it is "hardly surprising" to learn that many of these people are thinking of packing their bags and relocating to a cheaper country.
Citing recent research by Foreign Currency Direct, the newspaper added that about 24 per cent of people in a survey plan to move abroad within the next 12 months, partly for financial reasons.
The Telegraph commented: "Generally, you can buy a lot more home for your money than you could in traditionally popular UK areas."
Meanwhile, the Sun has highlighted the weather as another reason for Britons to look at moving abroad.
The newspaper described the climate as "gloomy", adding that it contributes to a "bleak experience" in the UK.
