Returning holidaymakers 'plan foreign property purchase'
Many people who are returning from their holidays are considering buying a foreign property, according to a new study.
Research by NatWest found that almost one in three believed buying a residence abroad would take away the stress of organising future trips abroad.
The firm said that booking a holiday could be a "hugely traumatic" process, due to issues such as choosing where to go and deciding which items to take.
Mike Freer, head of business development at the financial provider, stated that a holiday home abroad could take away of these problems and provide numerous long-term benefits.
He commented: "They provide great investment potential, a wonderful lifestyle and a permanent escape from the hassle and expense of holiday arrangements."
NatWest added that more than a quarter of a million Britons now owned a foreign property, mainly in locations such as France and Spain.
This comes after Gatwick Airport reported a surge in the number of people taking trips abroad during last week's school half-term break.
