Retirees 'want to head for Spain'
A high number of people over the age of 50 have stated that they wish to move abroad when they retire.
This is according to a telephone survey conducted between October last year and February 2007 by the insurance provider Insure4Retirement.co.uk, reports Homes Worldwide.
More than half of those polled said that they plan to move to foreign climes once they reach retirement age.
The country that came in with the most number of votes was Spain, the publication said, out of a total of 1,022 people.
Homes Worldwide added that there number of choices waiting in the country for potential retirees, such as inner-city flats and cottages out in the countryside.
It also advised consumers to take their time when looking for places to live, including looking for the best deals available on the internet.
Recent research from the European commission suggested that more people are starting to eat at home, rather than in restaurants, when living in Spain.
