Retirees consider cost of living in Spain

The cost of living in Spain is one of the main issues being considered by those who are thinking of moving to the country, experts have revealed.

According to NuBricks.com, more and more European retirees are planning to spend their post-working life in a foreign location such as Spain.

However, it stated that many are increasingly considering practical issues such as the financial impact of such a move.

NuBricks.com remarked: "One of the sticking points for many is clarifying the actual cost of living in Spain. How does it compare to the UK? Are the services as good?"

The website added that the cost of living in Spain is "substantially less" than in Britain, particularly with regards to areas such as food and drink.

This, it said, helps to illustrate why Spain is still the "top destination" for retirees looking to move abroad.

According to a recent poll by NatWest, 90 per cent of expats from the UK are financially better off since moving abroad.
