Rental accommodation 'in strong demand'
Overseas property investors are likely to benefit from a surge in demand for rental accommodation abroad.
MyHoliday.com stated that as soon as the Christmas shopping period was over, consumers would begin reserving holiday homes for the following summer.
The firm said self-catering holidays had grown in popularity during the last five years, leading to lots of demand for temporary accommodation in countries such as France and Spain.
As a result, owners of holiday homes in major holiday destinations will be likely to benefit from good rental income.
Claus Sorenson, chief executive of MyHoliday.com, remarked: "Despite the large boom in the property market, there is still a great need of more holiday rentals."
He recommended that tourists book accommodation early, as it would mean they are would be able stay in the best properties and the most appealing locations.
Meanwhile, the Association of British Travel Agents has highlighted Spain as one of the most popular tourist destinations among winter holidaymakers, along with France and Italy.
