Ras Al Khaimah signals Hilton's year of expansion
The emergence of the Arabian Peninsula as an area of growth and property development has been underlined today by one of the world's largest hoteliers.
Hilton hotels says the region is ripe for growth, with a series of new sites due to open this year following the latest addition to the fold at Ras Al Khaimah.
Arabian Peninsula vice president Essam Abouda told ArabianBusiness there was great potential for rolling out some of their brands, including Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Doubletree.
In particular, Mr Abouda was excited at the prospects for tourism and business development.
"Everything always goes with location," he commented, adding: "There is a great deal of interest that we see from owners and investors in general, and developers."
"We have just opened our new resort in Ras Al Khaimah, we have five new properties in the pipeline in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait," he said.
Describing 2007 as the "year of expansion for Hilton in the Arabian peninsula", he explained how the firm would be able to target the mid-market as well as luxury consumers as the area continued expected to enjoy rapid growth.
