"Cause for cheer" over UK property figures
Figures concerning the number of properties on the market in the UK are indicative of positive prospects.
That is the opinion of Nicholas Leeming, commercial director of information portal Zoopla.co.uk, who explained that the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) statistics are "cause for cheer".
According to Rics, a net balance of 15% of surveyors saw an increase in supply last month, compared to the 5% balance of September.
And buy-to-let property investors could benefit from the rise in sellers, as Mr Leeming predicted a housing sector recovery to follow.
"Satisfying the colossal pent-up demand from buyers will help drive transactions [and is] crucial to ensuring the property market recovery goes from strength to strength," he said.
The research also found that more Rics members saw prices rise than fall in October, with a net balance of 34 per cent representing an increase on the previous month's 21 per cent and the most positive result since December 2006.
