Potential property boost as Morocco 'attracts tourists'

Morocco is proving to be a popular destination among British tourists, according to one expert.

Francesca Ecsery, global sales director at travel comparison site Cheapflights.co.uk, explained that searches are increasing for countries outside the eurozone.

In addition to Morocco, she noted that Turkey is the choice of a growing number of people, with such tourism trends potentially boosting those who have made property investments.

The countries are attractive because they are inexpensive, said the specialist, with other factors including low-cost flights from Moroccan airlines in particular.

"It is not too far, easy to get to and is cheap when you get there," said Ms Ecsery.

Her comments come after Stephen Heath, chief executive of foreign exchange company FairFX.com, observed a rise in the number of people choosing to travel outside the eurozone.

This is in part due to sterling's weak performance against the euro, he stated, with a decline of around 20% having been seen in the last year.
