Positive signs for Moroccan economy

Those who have invested in Morocco may welcome suggestions that the country's economy is enjoying an upturn.

Official data from the High Planning Commission showed that the country's joblessness rate dropped to 9.8 per cent during the third quarter of the year, compared to 9.9 per cent in 2008, Reuters reports.

In addition, around 105,000 new jobs were created during the three-month period in question - predominantly in the construction and services sectors as a result of an increase in tourism in Morocco.

Other industries that have been developed in the country recently include new technology and the automotive sectors, thanks to efforts on the part of the Moroccan government, the news provider concluded.

In other news, advice portal BuyAssociation recently noted that the country's government has played a significant part in the success of Morocco's property market through the rollout of initiatives such as financial incentives for those who acquire property.
