Portugal's silver coast highlighted as an authentic and affordable investment location

Portugal's silver coast is a property investment location unspoiled by overdevelopment or insipid tourism, according to new claims from a property investors.

Kerry and Mark Woodhead of Maidenhead purchased a property near the silver coast as a means of avoiding the "hustle and bustle" of the cities, while enjoying a climate that is less arid than the popular Algarve region.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the couple explained that the region is "ideal" for their children, while the Portuguese people are notable for being both friendly and "down to earth".

Explaining the attraction of the silver coast, Ms Woodhead remarked: "People are crying out for a more cultural type of holiday where you experience what the country is like, rather than going to a place saturated with new developments."

The silver coast contains a number of towns of architectural and historical interest, including Aveiro, Coimbra and Obidos, the latter of which is a medieval fortified city also noted for its Praia Del Rey golf complex.
