Poland backs Croatian bid for EU accession
Croatia's aspirations to join the European Union (EU) have been boosted by the unqualified support of recent accession state Poland.
During a visit to Zagreb by Polish foreign minister Anna Fotyga, the two countries agreed to increase economic cooperation and the experiences of Poland's integration into the bloc will be of great use to Croatia.
"I would like to emphasise Poland's unlimited support to Croatia's aspirations for membership of the European Union and Nato," the People's Daily Online quotes Ms Fotyga as saying.
"Croatia is interested in Poland's experience in the process of integration with the European Union, particularly in the use and implementation of EU pre-accession aid and in the use of cohesion and structural funds," she added.
Poland is an important political and economic partner for Croatia, and Ms Fotyga and her counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic asserted that relations between the two countries were very good.
Trade between the two countries increased by a third in 2005-2006 and Polish tourists visiting Croatia increased 14% last year.
The potential EU accession and stable regional economics and politics are positive signs for the Croatian property market.
