New rail links boost French accessibility

Investors in French property could be set to benefit from the launch of a new high-speed rail service between London and Paris.

Eurostar's new rail link allows passengers to travel between St Pancras International and the French capital in less than 2 hours 15 minutes - a reduction of 20 minutes on previous journeys.

The company said the new service would allow people from all over the UK to reach mainland Europe quickly and easily, potentially boosting tourism and the overseas property market.

Richard Brown, chief executive of Eurostar, commented: "We can now run trains at high speed all the way from the Channel Tunnel to London, making journeys between cities quicker, more convenient and far greener than flying."

This comes after BuyAssociation praised the Channel Tunnel rail links for adding to the investment potential in Paris, as they allowed people to reach the heart of the city in a short amount of time.
