New mortgage options 'good for borrowers'

Buy-to-let property investors in the UK may be benefiting from a greater availability of finance options.

Hannah-Mercedes Skenfield of moneysupermarket.com explained that new, competitive mortgage options are appearing on the market.

She described this as good news for borrowers, with recent activity particularly focused on products of 75% loan-to-value.

"The latest offering from Abbey shows the importance lenders are placing on relationships they have with their existing customers - something all lenders have traditionally neglected to do in the past," said Ms Skenfield.

She went on to suggest that those planning to take out a mortgage should be sure to take time to find the best deal that is relevant to their needs.

Jon Brown of change of address service iammoving.com recently observed that a growing number of people are considering property investments in the UK.

Positive economic news is contributing to a rise in confidence levels, he stated, with an increase in sales expected early next year.
