New French flights to depart from Cornwall
Overseas property investors in France are likely to benefit from the introduction of new flights from the UK.
Low-cost airline Air Southwest announced that would expand its range of services from Newquay Cornwall Airport next year, including new flights to the French town of Chambery.
The service should result in positive benefits on both sides of the channel, such as an increase in business, tourism and overseas property investment.
In addition, this should boost the accessibility of popular skiing region for people in the south of England.
Thelma Sorensen, chairman of the Cornwall Business Partnership, commented: "This is fantastic news for Cornwall and opens up huge opportunities for business and leisure travel by increasing our connectivity."
Air Southwest chief executive Jim Cameron added that he was confident that the new services would be popular with travellers from the region.
Earlier this week, the Association of British Travel Agents said that France had become the most popular destination with winter sports fans.
