New Croatian flights launched by easyJet

Low-cost airline easyJet has started operating its new service between Bristol and eastern Europe.

Leisure travellers in the West Country can now fly directly between Bristol Airport and the Croatian city Split.

The new route, which operates twice a week, represents a further improvement to the accessibility of eastern Europe and Croatia in particular.

Bristol Airport is expecting this service to be very popular with consumers, as Split offers a "buzzing cultural scene".

Meanwhile, easyJet has described the route as an "exciting" development for people in south-west England.

The airline commented: "Split is the largest city on the Adriatic coast, ideal for a relaxing city break or as a base for exploring the picturesque Croatian province of Dalmatia."

This could also be a positive development for owners of property in the country, as the additional interest may encourage further growth in its housing market.

According to figures from Knight Frank, property values in Croatia rose by 11.6 per cent during 2007.
