New airline launches Dubai service
A new airline will start offering flights to Dubai from two UK airports next month.
Primarily serving the Asian market, Air Sylhet begins commercial operations on December 4th, when flights to the emirate from Manchester and London Stansted will be available, skyscanner.net reports.
Chairman of the new carrier Kabir Kahn said his firm was conscious of "bucking the trend" in an economic climate which has recently seen many airlines struggle to stay in the air.
Mr Khan added that Air Sylhet is "not looking to compete with low-frills airlines", but instead plans to offer "a complete service to high and exacting standards".
The airline will be based at Birmingham in the UK and its flights to Dubai from Manchester and Stansted will go via Vienna.
Dubai was the recent recipient of several accolades at the World Travel Awards Middle East, which praised the emirate's "bold vision and innovation" in the tourism market.
