Morocco to receive more winter tourists
Overseas property investors in Morocco could be set to benefit from a surge in visitor numbers this winter, new research has found.
According to a study by TravelRepublic.co.uk, there has recently been an unprecedented increase in the number bookings for Christmas holidays to sunny locations.
The city of Marrakesh was highlighted as one of the most popular tourist destinations, since it allowed British holidaymakers to enjoy warm weather during the winter months.
Paul Furner, managing director of TravelRepublic.co.uk, commented: "The combination of the terrible summer and the clocks changing this weekend have prompted a surge in bookings for Christmas holidays to the sun."
This increase in winter tourism is likely to be welcomed by owners of rental accommodation in Morocco, as increased visitors numbers will heighten demand for such property.
According to Travel and Tourism News, approximately 6.5 million people took a holiday Morocco during 2006.
