Morocco 'still accessible on a budget'
Holidaymakers on a budget can still visit Morocco, despite the recent growth of the country's tourism sector.
This is according to Jane Folliott of Orion Trek Voyages, who said that prices have risen slightly in Morocco on account of its growing popularity with international holidaymakers.
However, she explained that it is still possible to travel "reasonably cheaply" in the north African country, which experienced a 14% rise in visitor levels during 2007, according to figures from the Moroccan tourism board.
Ms Folliott said that Marrakesh remains popular with UK visitors, partly due to the fact that "lots of low-cost airlines" now offer flights to the city from British airports.
Earlier this month, the Telegraph reported that Morocco is becoming increasingly popular with property investors from the UK.
Major infrastructure improvements such as new road and rail links, as well as upgrades to regional airports, are attracting British buyers.
