Morocco recommended to investors

Overseas property investors have been advised to consider purchasing a residence in Morocco.

The north African country was recommended by Amberlamb, which said it has the potential to thrive and prosper over the next few years.

According to the organisation, the government is currently in the process of diversifying its economy in order to make it less reliant on sectors such as agriculture.

It has already committed to attracting ten million visitors a year by 2010 and is currently aiming to make the country a good place for overseas investors.

Amberlamb commented: "The underlying objective is to make Morocco more attractive and robust an environment for foreign direct investment."

The organisation added that the real estate sector has benefited directly as a result of this policy, while rising tourist numbers are helping to boost its emerging holiday industry.

Official figures recently revealed that it received 7.4 million leisure travellers last year.
