Morocco 'popular for Christmas holidays'
Morocco's climate and accessibility makes the country a popular choice with Christmas holidaymakers from the UK.
This is according to Jane Folliott of Orion Trek Voyages, who explained that Morocco can offer British families an escape from "the drudgery of winter in Europe", but also retains a feeling of Christmas due to its European influences.
She said that the country is improving as a family-friendly destination, due to better travel networks and other infrastructure improvements.
"People are feeling a bit more confident about taking children to Morocco because it has developed a lot in terms of facilities," Ms Folliott commented.
Although still warmer than many European destinations, the north African country does experience a drop in temperature during the festive period, with snowfall seen in its mountainous areas.
The Telegraph recently reported on the growing popularity of Moroccan ski resorts such as Oukaimeden, which is situated about 45 miles south of Marrakesh.
