Morocco 'overlooked by the media'
Morocco is not currently getting enough coverage in the British media, according to an expert.
Sharif Hikmat Nashashibi, chairman of Arab Media Watch, said he finds the lack of attention given to the country in the press "rather surprising".
Writing in the Guardian, he stated that the present state of affairs is strange because Morocco is very popular with British tourists and enjoys good relations with the UK.
The north African country has also become a hotspot of activity for overseas property investors in recent years, including holiday home buyers and expatriates.
However, he conceded that this aspect of Morocco has been widely been discussed in the British media.
Mr Nashashibi commented: "Morocco received generally good coverage for its property market."
He added that the country's tourist attractions and economy have also received a favourable press in the last few years.
Official figures recently revealed that in 2007, Morocco attracted 7.45 million foreign leisure travellers.
