More 'public offerings' in Romania

The Romanian capital market appears to be in good shape, with an expert at the law company Badea Clifford Chance having stated that it expects to see more initial public offerings in the next few months.

Partner at the company David Eathough said that there is also increasing interest from investment banks on the domestic market, something that has led the company to raise its presence there, reports zf.ro.

He added that although the Romanian market has not yet matured, it is stating to see a lot of attention from the global markets.

"Judging by our activity, I wouldn't be surprised if there were at least 6 initial public offerings within the next 9 to 10 months," the official told the publication.

He added that he wishes to use Bucharest as a regional hub from which to expand into other markets such as Turkey.

Recently, the Romanian airliner Tarom said that it has seen overall revenues from overseas flights rise by 25%.
