More incentives 'to settle in Spain'
Spain is to become more family friendly than ever, news that may be of interest to those looking to invest in the country.
The prime minister of the country Jose Zapatero has stated that families are set to receive 2,500 euros (£1,690) every time a child is born, as this will boost the low birth rate in the country, reports Homes Worldwide.
In addition, the paper reports that the birth rate in Spain was 1.37 per woman of a child-bearing age in 2006, which is among the lowest rates in Europe.
Mr Zapatero claimed that if Spain is to progress as a country, then it needs to plan for the future and see an increasing number of children being born.
In news that may interest investors, the deal will also be available to anyone who is a resident in Spain.
Currently, the rise in population in the country is due to rising immigration rather than high birth levels, the paper reports.
Recent comments from thinkproperty.com suggested that idyllic properties in Spain near beaches are the most popular.
