More flights to Turkey from the north-east this summer
Turkey is set to become more accessible to travellers this summer as more flights are added from an airport in the north-east.
Holidays 4U, a Turkish holiday specialist, is adding new flights from Durham Tees Valley airport to cope with increased demand.
Emma Ormerod, communications manager at Durham Tees Valley, said: "People like Turkey because it is great value...and everything points to it being another good season in 2010."
She added that Bodrum will be added as a new destination, creating more than 2,000 extra seats to the country. Every Monday in the peak holiday period a flight will run between Durham and Bodrum.
A spokesman for Holidays 4U said that Turkey was benefitting from being outside of the eurozone.
Signs are already pointing to Turkey becoming one of 2010's hottest destinations. The weakness of the lira against the pound makes now an ideal time to invest in Turkish property and cash in on the tourism boom.
