Montenegro reports increased visitor numbers
Overseas property investors could potentially benefit from a surge in the number of people visiting Montenegro.
According to official figures cited by the Makfax news agency, the country's tourist sector has generated profits of 420 million euros in the year to date.
Between January and September, more than 1 million holidaymakers were found to have visited Montenegro, staying for a total of 7 million nights.
This was almost 20 per cent higher than during the same period in 2006,making it the most successfult time for Montenegro's tourist industry in two decades.
Meanwhile, the overall income generated as a result of increased visitors numbers was found to be up by 40 per cent on the previous year.
These figures are likely to be welcomed by overseas property investors, as Montenegro has recently become an increasingly popular market with foreign buyers.
David Lewis of Hodge Insurance Brokers recently told the Western Mail that eastern European markets were becoming more sought-after as they were seen to offer greater capital returns than other, more established countries.
